Do you guys do anything special months and months after your tattoo is healed? I still put on unscented lotion from time to time, but nothing other than that. Anything you can do to keep the colors bright and vibrant?

:werd: sunblock is the best thing you can do. sometimes at the beech I'll put zinc oxide on my arms. looks kinda stupid but its better than ruining my tat. sunburns on tattoos suck.

What? Am I missing something or does this not really make sense to a large extent?

ditto on sunscreen. i think also if its a part of the body that is susceptible to drying out, i would definitely try to keep it well moisturised (ie: top/side of my foot, though i don't think you would have to worry about the inner of your bicep too much :hsugh:)

  12. so true. i went canoeing for like close to 20 miles with my friend the other day and it took 7 hours. we were out in the sun the entire time and my arm got sunburned even though i put 50SPF on an reapplied. the colors on the arm raised up and were itchy for a day but after it went back to normal. hope it doesn't fade :noes:

I so surprised at how many people put so much effort and money into getting beautiful tattoos and they don't know or don't care about the damage sun can do to your ink.

I'm so strict about keeping mine out of the sun as much as possible and wearing invisible zinc when I'm in it. Not sure if you can get it in the US..

I put on at least 70+ spf on my arms about every 20 minutes. The last time I went to Vegas, I used a whole can of the spray type just on myself. I wear long sleeves most of the time since I cannot have my tattoos show at work. My right arm is at least 2 years old and my left arm half sleeve is about a year old. I'm continuing my left arm into a full so I'm extremely careful about how I take care of it.

I have some white in the eye of the jellyfish that's about 9 years old. it still looks the same. but I'm pretty pale so I guess it would be hard to tell if it really faded much.

It puts the lotion on its skin, else it gets the hose again...

    Just had to say it.
