How would I go about determining my target heart rate for fat burning (on a treadmill, bike, or elliptical)? I think it has something to do with age and weight

    23 yrs.
    192 lbs.
    5'9''

    (220 - age) = maximum heart rate

    (220 - age) * 0.80 (80%) or you could use 75% too I suppose
    (220 - 23) * 0.80 = 157 BPM
    (220 - 23) * 0.75 = 148 BPM

So as long as you're within 148 - 157, you should do fine.

exactly, your body will adapt over time to the increased work load, you need to get in shape first otherwise you will be hawling your fat ass at 2mph and doing 250bpm
