    http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-60mm-2-0-DI-II/dp/B00200K9O0

    http://www.tamron.com/lenses/prod/60mm.asp

    Highlights:

    60mm
    f2!
internal focusing (no external moving parts)
fast, internal focus motor (will work on consumer nikons...)
more precise 'heavy torque' manual focus
    1:1 focus

    Lowlights:

    only for apc/dx bodies...

Sounds neat... Could actually be a really nice portrait lens....

but I guess the real question is..... why?

I think it's even gonna cost more than the Nikon 60mm 2.8 Micro... Even though I hear that lens sucks ass....

I've played around with it a couple times, it's a nicely built lens with great image quality. The focus on it takes FOR-EV-ER...

does it really? Seemed like they were trying to push it as a decent portrait lens... Guess I should have known better, considering the slow ass screws they use for accurate macro focusing....

:werd: The focal plane would be less than a human hair...
