A&P tamron 28-75mm versus 24-135mm

    the latter has a wider range, smaller f, and better rating on fredmiranda. they're bot similar prices. which do you guys think is better?

    edit: or the canon 28-105. this one is the cheapest.

    Tamron 24-135 f3.5-5.6 SP AD Aspherical IF

    Tamron SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Lens

    For a good all around lens that you would keep on the camera I like the idea of a f2.8 over a higher aperture.

    True story. I think you would benefit from the higher aperture. You would be able to use it under more conditions which makes it a better all-around lens.

    17-50 f/2.8
    28-75 f/2.8
    17-35 f/2.8-4

    yep, and the 17-35 isn't even worth it now that the 17-50 is out.
