We got these in at work and I just have to say that while the Tamron IS unit seems to be a little slow on the uptake, once it stabilizes itself, it is ROCK steady.

1/6 @ 300mm is no problem even on a crop body.

    IB...
    Its still a Tamron
    Its loud
    Its a 28-300 lens
    Its crap
Or any other unforeseen negative response.

Im not saying the lens is good. Im just saying that I was honestly amazed at how steady the VC is on this particular lens.

    Well, upon further examination...

    The IQ is pretty shitty
    The lens focuses abhorrently slow
IS does take a second to "stabilize"
It makes your hands smell like marijuana after you use it?...

Ive never used Tamron's 70-200. I used to own a copy of the Sigma 70-200/2.8 and I thought it was good until I used a Canon one and saw what I was missing out on.
