A&P tamron 17-50mm for macro photography?

    thinking about building a ring flash for use with my canon speedlite. i've got a tamron 17-50mm and 50mm 1.8 II i can use for macro shots, but i'm not sure how the results will be.

    if anyone can provide some insight let me know, thanks.

    neither of those are macro lenses.

    yeah.. you're correct. don't have an extra $500 to spend on the canon 100mm right now.

    but you can't really do macro with out a macro lens. theres close up adapters, or you can do the whole reversing a lens thing, but :greddy:

    extension tubes work quite well.

    exactly. don't expect anything spectacular.
