f/6.3 at 300mm means you can forget about using this lens handheld in any environment other than funny as fuck.

yeah, knew that. I have my XT just to fuck around with so i wan't looking for any sort of L lens. I have the kit lense, ebay fisheye, 50mm f1.4 and now this.

I got it for 140 shipped so it would have been hard to find somethign same price comparable. Ill just mess around with this while saving up for something in a 300-500 $ price range. I really couldnt find myself spending more than that. any suggestions?

a lense around 300-500 dollar range.

nothing superzoom, just a nice walk around that'll ill never really need to replace.

I needed a lens with some range before I went on a trip and this was the only thing I could really afford but it's pretty shitty. I payed like 230 for it so I guess 150 isn't that bad but I know now not to buy cheap lenses.

we had 2 28-300 tamrons and they were incredibly soft at all lengths. we also only had them for a year because the internals kept it from zooming smoothly then not at all.
