ive been trying out time machine for a while now, and i just don't think i like it.

my biggest problem is that it will expand to eat up your entire network drive, but without any extra redundancy. i suppose i could partition the drive to limit it, but last time it filled a 500GB drive and said that it couldn't back up because the drive was full.
i don't need to go back to something i deleted six weeks ago.

what i really want is something to do a complete dupe of the current state of my hard drive to a network disk & something i can easily restore to if my computer craps out.

is there anything else you use?
