Dammit, friend has the same gun without the fluted barrel I shot this weekend at 100 yards. Loved the gun so I was searching around and found it on CDNN for $699 with the fluted barrel. I got the wife permission earlier to get it, only issue is do I want to get this or focus on getting an AR-15 first as I am trying to find a descent cost AR-15 right now.

:madfawk: I am running out of money for this shit.

  2. If you don't buy this, you'll have $699 to put towards an AR.

That looks sweet, I don't know why I would try to talk you out of buying it. It's a Winchester Model 70 action, they are very well made.

$700 will pretty much buy you an ar. I'd get the ar first. Don't forget to look at ammo costs.

Was a better deal when they were blowing out just the barreled actions....

I personally don't care at all for the Hogue stock that comes on those (though it would be easy to flip).

  7. Newsflash: Some people have financial obligations that force them to budget (mortgage, etc...), and sometimes people are in relationships where each partner contributes, and therefore has some say in a large purchase. Not everyone here is some 20 year old that lives in an apartment or with their parents and has nothing else to spend their money on. I'm sure the OP would be pissed off if his wife went out and spent $699 on shoes or something.

Make your own money, spend it on what you want as long as you can afford your shared obligations. Getting "permission" from your wife is extremely lame and depressing.

  9. I'm afraid that those with financial obligations and in long term relationships can't just do that. Nice if we could though.

    guilty as charged :hsd:

  11. There's nothing wrong with it, just when those people apply their view of relationships and money to people in wholly different situations.

you must have never had a long term live in girlfriend or been married.
every big purchase is a mutual decision, if my gf went and bought a $800 purse i'd be pissed and we don't even live together.

I'm 22. Why the fuck would I want to be married? But even so, if she has a job and can afford it, who cares? Now if she bought an $800 purse then was begging me to buy everything practical because she was broke....yeah I'd be pissed.

  15. Maybe she wants you. :noes:

  16. Ok, so if you don't live together or have any significant shared expenses, then do whatever you want. The OP here is married, so it's safe to assume he lives with his wife and they do have lots of shared expenses. In that case, it's a good idea for them to talk about big purchases. If you tried to apply your line of thinking to his situation, you'd find yourself without a wife real soon.

Sounds like I'd rather be wife-less than ask permission to spend my own money like a child. :hsughno:

oh I know. I am just stating that you have no idea what you're talking about. You'll change your mind.

Plus it shouldn't matter regardless if you marry the right woman. I've spent so much goddamn money in the past month on guns, my wife just laughs
