I bought zinc supplements a few weeks back and had planned on taking them. I read up on it and found out that if you take over 30mg a day through supplements, you need to supplement copper as well? The supplements I bought are 50mg on top of the multivitamin I have which has 15mg as well as 2mg of copper.

    What is the proper approach?

I've worked for a certified clinical nutritionist for the last eight years, so I asked her your question today at work. She's been a CCN for over 30 years now and was also president of the NNFA for many years.

She said if you're taking 65 mg of zinc a day you probably need to be getting 3 mg of copper a day instead of two. And make sure you're getting some Vitamin A. Any reason you're taking that much zinc? Also, all my reference books say never take more than 100 mg of zinc a day.

I understand it's a natural test booster. If this is the case though, I might not even bother.
