In the morning I'm taking my first MS Exam at a 'test centre' and was wondering what it is like.

The test centre registration details say it takes 4 hours, but the practice exams you find online take 2 hours 15 minutes.

I got it for free from MS through my uni course, so I've only ever sat exams before, and was wondering what the procedure was.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Which one are you taking?

I went to a MCSE boot camp about 5 years ago. The tests were part of the course and we took them in a classroom. Take your test and leave when you are done.

I did a few others at a local community college. It was pretty much in a classroom.

The tests are timed. Maybe 4 hours is the max time allowed for the exam?

Very nice, I have a few tests I need to take. Simple ones first; A+, Network+, then I start working on the MCP then MSCE, security+ too.

Does the A+ exam still require you to know how many pins are on SIMM or EDO RAM? Those exams have always been so far behind the actual software.
