I just had my processor crap out of my computer and decided to buy a new one. How do I transfer the music and stuff from my old HD to my new one? Both computers have XP as their OS. Thanks!

Why not set your HD with all the data you want as a slave drive and just copy everything over to the main drive, then format the slave and start fresh on it?

That's exactly what I did and I had no problems with it at all. :)

That's all I have to do is hook it up as the slave drive? Could I just keep it as an additional drive? Thanks!

When you hook it up as the slave, you will have 2 hard drives that are both accessable from windows. You can keep it that was as long as you want. :big grin:

Sweet! A guy from work told me it wouldn't work since I was running XP on both computers.

No - he just sucks :)

Make sure you set the jumpers the right way! Won't hurt anything if they aren't set right but its a pain to change once the drive is in.

I've done this between a Compaq and a Hewlett-Packard (in the HP), I've got a Packard Bell that sucks ass also ...

Will it work? Haven't opened it up yet. (I know PB has some proprietary stuff)
