I have what i would call a moderately strained pec. Do I just lay off and wait for it to heal or is there something I can do to help it along? I just started lifting after a year break and i guess i over did it a bit. :hs:

depends did you actually injure it or are you just sore?

if you're sore, don't work that muscle group for a day, then do some light exercise on it after (like cardio or some light lifting) that's what works for me...I find if I wait until I'm completely sore it takes 2-3 days, but if I do some light work on it a day after the soreness clears up.

R.I.C.E usually works unless we're talking any type of actual injury.

its weird. way beyond the soreness that i have experienced. its feeling alot better today, but ive never actually had a muscle swell up like this one has. its been 6 days and its just barely starting to feel better.
