So i have about a TB of external storage - one of which has like 250 Gigs of music that I access regularly and I want to find out if I should do any maintenance on these guys like I do for my system HDD. Gracias for the help.

PS - is there anything besides onyx/maintenance that you guys use?

is it mac formatted? a journaling file system usually does a pretty good job of keeping everything organized and efficient

are you having any trouble with it?

Back it up. No one sees the need for backup til it's too late (that's why my company makes so much $$$$).

haha, backup a back up :p i've wondered about that.

They're both journaled mac systems, except one little guy that goes back and fourth between mac and PC.

Anybody else have thoughts on the matter?

it's always good to have at least 2 copies of important data...or data that you can't easily get back

hard drives are cheap. losing data is not
