    Hello all.
I have a cheap Olympus Stylus 710 7.1 mp camera and it seems i allways have to have the flash on or the pictures look grainy. If its a close picture i really get the flash whiteout. I dont know anything about cameras or pictures but I want to start learning. I dont have the money for a SLR yet. Here are two pictures to show what im talking about.

It's just from harsh direct lighting. Obviously off-camera lighting is pretty much out of the question, but you could try diffusing it with some white fabric over the flash or something. Or maybe hand hold a small mirror to reflect the flash off a wall or the ceiling. :dunno:

Tape a piece of paper towel over the flash. Sure it's gonna look ghetto, but it's going to help diffuse the light.
