I'm quitting my job and moving apartments next week. I'm not going to lift. I'm going to smoke pot and rest. Tomorrow is my last day at 95% on 5/3/1 then Tuesday I'd start to deload.

Since i'm taking a week off, should I still deload when I start back up (May 3rd) or am I good to start a new cycle?

Just count it as your deload, imo.

try to get into the gym for at least a partial deload even if you don't follow it to a T

weeks off are awesome here and there, but i personally wouldn't take one if i was in the middle of a program and it didn't call for a week off.

at the end of the day though it's not going to make a game changing difference

This is one of those situations where being flexible, going with what life is throwing at you, and enjoying your time off/getting shit done rather than obsessing about everything will be just fine.

the program calls for a deload taking a week off accomplishes the same thing

:dunno: i'm no expert but i've always read that they weren't the same. something about deloading resetting your CNS in a way that a week off couldn't accomplish.. something about a bucket overflowing. can't find the link.

at the end of the day, TS is not a competitive strength training athlete so its whatever

Well yeah, exactly. It's like supps and stuff that give you an extra 1% edge...for 99.9% of us it won't matter at all and we'll still get great results without them.

I try to do my deload weeks with light weights on a regular basis every month, but if I'm too busy or work is kicking my ass or whatever, I just take a week off.
