I've got an HP Photosmart 735 and I'm having a hell of a time taking an eye shot that isn't blurry as hell.

Any suggestions or settings I should be using?

prob need a macro lens :noes: lens have a minimum distance they can focus at. I doubt your camera can focus on a level as close as you want. There are things you can add to the end of your lense to magnify things, but I dont know anything about your particular camera, but im guessing you cant get those attachments. Best bet is to find a friend with a nice camera with macro lens.

if your camera supports it, get a conversion lens aapter for it, find out it's thread diameter, (usually around 52mm), and buy a cheap, manual focus 35mm prime, like the Carl Zeiss 50mm f/1.7, and a male-to-male reverese-mount adapter. It'll give you a huge magnification, like around 5:1.

    :hsugh:

Good luck finding any kind of adapter for a 735.

My advice is to try different distances and make sure you have alot of light on your eye. You might find that if you take it from further back and crop it on the computer it will turn out better.

i think youd have to buy that THEN a macro lens, sounds a bit expensive for just an eye pic with a camera you may replace soon? :dunno:
edit : of course you could use that lens with yoru new camera of the future :)

Tomash just IM'd me and we had a brief talk about photography stuff.

I think I may treat myself to a new camera for crimmas.
The HP has been a great point and shoot, but I'm developing more interest in photgraphy and the 735 ain't gonna cut it.

Tomash had his computer confiscated for trafficking child porn and asking 12 year old boys in chat rooms to meet him.

That eye looks like it is rotting....I know it isn't you and wasn't taken by you but whoever owns that eye should get that shit checked out.

macro setting + slow shutter speed + tripod (or any surface where you can rest your camera) = better definition

cutting off the models head and placing it on a level service would help too (less movement from said head)
