    I'll give the cliffs upfront:
Take a course with these guys. I feel that cops (I'm not one) should be standing hundreds deep waiting to get into this class. This type of information will keep you alive in a gun fight.

This was my first experience with formal training. We started slow by learning the F.A.S.T...T's and then easing in some more complex drills. We learned that if we weren't delivering steel on target to move our fucking feet. Strange shooting positions/ clearing the 3 types of pistol malfunctions/ disrupting OODA loops with the 'stop' command/etc. I learned that by the time you realize you're in a gun fight, you might be on your back after being smashed in the head with a fucking brick. Get back to your feet and fight. Also, when you're out of ammo, use your $600 hammer and smash that dickweed, or get that knife out, or put up your dukes... Your fight ends when you're dead.

Lots of great legal stuff and the effects of adrenaline on your perceptions of space/time and how that can fuck up your police report (keep your mouth shut). Don't talk to the cops when you're on drugs.

Learned the importance of angles and geometry in a gunfight, as taught by Ben. The illustrative positions and spirited teaching style that Ben had made it great.

Take this class, You will absolutly not regret it. More than worth the price of admission

I have nothing but the upmost respect for the instructors. Thank you James, Aaron, Ben and 'zophiel'. You all are great teachers and great warriors.:bowdown:

    Standby for photos...

I should have robbed a bank or something to get the extra cash for the Advanced FP class which was today and tomorrow. Although, the amount of info requires some time to sink in, so maybe it's for the best. AFP or fighting rifle is my next class.

Can't comment on that school, unfortunately. But I can seriously vouche for TR. I WILL be training with them again in short order.

I looked on their website and it says Blackhawk Serpa holsters aren't allowed, do you know why?

You really don't need time to let it sink in. You should have taken Fighting Pistol then Advanced Fighting Pistol back-to-back. I guess you'll just have to come to Camden now....

    Thanks for the review.

Next up you need AFP and The Fight.

    Do it.

Believe me I will. The ONLY reason I didn't do AFP was monetary. I cried myself to sleep last night thinking about how much fun this class would have been. I was just justifying it as the above.

I'm stoked for FoF training too...

    Thanks!

They can make you shoot yourself in the ass because of how the locking mechanism works...and dirt gets in them and they don't open. James told us one of their students had to CUT the holster away from the gun.

Beware though. The Can of fucking worms this class opens will make you want to quit work and become a fulltime trainee.

I should drive over there and give James and Ben hell. I live maybe 10 minutes from the range. I need to talk to the wife about it, but next time Tactical Response is down here, we need to not only be in the class, but also give back to the instructors and students like they give to us. James, despite his sometimes crude mannerisms, is a gentleman, and cares a great deal about his students. Staying in the Team Room a few nights almost makes up for the price of the class compared to staying in a hotel. And that's just monetarily. When it comes to the brotherhood of staying in the same place with the guys in your class, it makes a difference. Particularly when you're all there for multiple classes, or longer classes.

Yea, I've heard those holsters can be a PITA. I also read a review in a AR-15 magazine from the author that took the Fighting Rifle class. They showed a picture of him with a SERPA on. Just a random thing I noticed.

i believe it's because a foreign object can get in between the serpa lock and will not allow the user to draw

The size of a stoned need to jam the locking mechanism is pretty sizable.

It's obviously a common issue of alot of training facilitys do not allow the use of them.

Interesting. I know a few that don't mind them, and use them from time to time. Any level 2+ holster can get mechanically jammed. Since they fixed the location of the release button I don't see anything wrong with them.
