Anybody play the Arkham Horror or Battlestar Galactica board games?
I thoroughly enjoyed them, and the length lets you kill an entire day with friends.
In BSG you are a human or a Cylon. The Cylons try to stop the humans, but you don't know who it is :noes:

in Arkham Horror you battle Lovecraft's horrors and try to save the world.

post up some fun games you guys have played.

Goddamn right. It is a really ingenious system. you should look it up, or I can post some more about the gameplay if you want.

There was this board game by SSI called Renegade Legion. I played it on PC and loved it.

But there was this hack that let you keep on using you old pilot over and over again. So I'd make some amazingly epic pilots and jets.

on a separate, yet similar, note: I have been itching for some D&D lately.
I just have no one willing to play near me.

For good reason. It's a fantastic game. I killed many nights and weekends in college playing it with the guys who lived in the dorm next door to me.

Is it possible to get a copy of it? I know it was out of print for a lot of years.

The old editions with the 11 billion expansion packs are really hard to find, and expensive when you do.

However, Fantasy Flight Games has picked it up, and has started republishing it. Right now they have it + dungeon + grim reaper + frostmarch expansions available.

I own all of the new ones, minus frostmarch (It just came out in November, and haven't had a chance to pick it up yet)

One of my friends is huge into board/card games. He goes to the boardgamegeek convention every year and has even won some tournaments there.

We haven't tried BSG yet, but he has it. We just started playing Dominion and it's fucking fantastic. Definitely one of my new favorites.

We finally tried BSG last weekend and I was not really impressed.

I've been playing Last Night On Earth a bunch recently and totally love it though.

I'm currently thinking about picking up Arkham Horror because it can be played solo. :o

Also if you like the 'don't know who the bad guy is' aspect of BSG, try this game called Bang. I played it a couple times with my friends and love it.
