I've had this problem for awhile, but lately it's gotten worse. The process, System, uses 100% or close to 100% of the available CPU cycles. Are there any programs that I can use to terminate the process, or break it down to find out what specific file is hogging all the resources?

I've run into this before. It turned out to be related to MS SQL Server and Hyperthreading being turned on. I didn't figure that out until like a year later though.

Is it "System" or "System Idle Process"?

Its the process called "System". The system idle process runs close to 0% when System is hogging all the resources.

Edit: It appears that the Thread ACPI.SYS is using all of the CPU cycles. Is there any way I can get a new version of this file, or prevent it from using all the cycles?
