Apparently I could use some work on not drowning the shit out of myself when keeping my head down and breathing properly :o

I have a huge stomach ache. Also, if anyone has any kicking tips, my kick sucks ass.

    Large amounts :hsugh:

You have some major issues if you are taking in "large amounts" of pool water. No reason you should get more than a sip unless it's a major fluke.

I took a couple of swim lessons a month or so back. I could swim, just not well, or in a way that would be good for exercising without looking like a jackass. Anywho, he had me exhale just before leaning up for air, so as to create an air pocket. Unfortunately, I tend to pull large amounts of water up with the arm I'm breathing next to, and that goes straight into my mouth. I don't know if that makes sense.

Anyway, each time that happens, most of it gets coughed up and I assume a fairly tiny amount gets swallowed, but after 30+ minutes of swimming it starts to add up. When all is said and done, yeah, large amounts, relative to how much pool water you SHOULD be drinking, which is none.

I'm the same way...everytime I go swimming for any extended length of time, I always end up feeling fucking full and burping.
Usually have diarhea after that as well.:hs:

Holy shit, your av is the Juggernaught :eek4:

minus the diarhea, that's the same as me. I felt like I was going to throw up though since I'd also had a protein bar about half an hour beforehand.

Nice to see you back Timber :wavey:

When I swim too long though, My lungs feel saturated, like there is alot of water vapor in them. I live in Arizona where there is no moister in the air, so that might make the effect seem worse.

Speaking of dry air, should I look into getting a humidifier for my place? is there any actual reason to have, or not have moister in the air? I HATE humidity, the dryness of AZ is awsome, I hate humid days.

Well don't forget that your breathing becomes irregular and you're constantly moving in an environment where your body isn't experiencing your normal gravity. You'll get a bit gassy at first.

You should not, however, be drinking a lot of pool water. That's just nasty.

An update... I found it helped a hell of a lot to do exercises involving holding my breath for long periods of time. If I only take a breath every 8 to 10 strokes, I take in a lot less water.
