so yeah I had my manboobs removed (glandular and lipo)
had em right under the nipple since I was like 13 so it feels good to finally have em gone

doc instructed me to wear the compression garment for like a month after surgery, so i did (not 24/7 after the first 2 weeks, though)

anyways its been a month and the nipples themselves are still swollen (puffy) and when I put the garment on they go down and look natural (or when its cold or when im training)

so im hoping pur or someone whos come into contact with guys that have had this procedure done could give me an idea of when to expect the swelling to go down? the chest is almost completely healed, only have the scars left

Just a random thought here.... but perhaps calling your surgeon about the issue will get you some answers.

When it comes to post-surgery stuff I wouldn't trust answer via the internet. If you want to entertain ideas from people here then that's cool... but just wait for the doctor to give you a post-surgery consult.

yeah basically the thread wasnt made out of pure concern but more speculation

ive been told anywhere from like 1 month post op to 6 months post op for the final results to be shown

im just impatient because they look like they did before the surgery with this fucking swelling and its fucking with my head

Give it time man... The skin has to re-adjust and that is part of the purpose of the compression pad... to force the skin into re-adjustment rather than let it hang and just become flabby.

I'm on the verge of having this done as well, had gyno since puberty

How much did the surgery cost you? I got a quote of $5k locally

I'd shell out the money in a heartbeat if I knew it would turn out good, but threads like this scare me

    Were you prescribed any anti-inflammatories?

I would ice and use anti inflamitories to reduce the swelling. Also there is always the small possibility of infection even this long after the initial surgery.

How long after the surgery until you could lift again?

everything feels fine on a muscular basis, besides the fact my bench tanked

i dont have an infection, but I'll start taking antiinflammatories and icing/heating the area tomorrow, im wearing the brace at the moment

    I had it done.

The swelling takes a while to go down. Keeping the compression vest on might be a good idea; I wore that shit for a long-ass time.

But as always, ask your doc.

I don't remember exactly. I wore it almost 24/7 for at least a month though, probably closer to 6 weeks. The longer you wear it the less swelling you'll get and faster you'll heal.

i paid 1400 for the lipo portion and the gland removal was covered under canadian health care

i'm not very happy with the results though ...it's been about 4 months now and although they're a lot better i think he should've taken out more. i'm gonna book an appointment this week to see what he says

bro I had surgery in January (tumor removed, facial reconstructive) and I e-mail my surgeon like every week to let him know what's going on

ask if he has a personal e-mail you can contact him at so you can ask questions without shelling $$$
