svideo port on laptop?

    i have an svideo port on my laptop, hooked it up to my tv with the svideo converter cable, but i couldnt get it to show the screen on the tv...any ideas why?im on xp.

    Some laptops require you to press a combination of buttons to redirect the display from the screen to the video ports. I've noticed the keys to do this are different on different laptops but it's usually something like Alt-F* or something like that. Some laptops have the button marked with a sort of picture-in-picture graphic. You press that button with the one colored the same as the grapic.

    Usually the "Fn" key plus one of the F-keys, look for the PIP as described above
