can it be done? if so how can i do it?
You want to convert a SVCD to VCD?
Why? SVCD has better quality than VCD
If your DVD player can play VCDs but not SVCD then I can understand why then.
First off if the SVCD is still in mpg file on your drive then just using TMPGEnc to convert it to MPEG1 (SVCDs are MPEG2)
If it's in an image ISO or cue/bin, then you can use [url\http://www.vcdgear.com/]VCDGear[/url] to rip it to MPEG
I'm not sure if it rips it as MPEG1 or MPEG2, try play the file afterwards if the natural resolution is larger than 352x240 then it is MPEG2 and you'll have to use TMPGEnc to re-encode it.
Then just use Nero or VCDEasy to burn it as a VCD disc
