We're liquidating our fleet of SUV's and selling them at the auctions. Instead of keeping 6 or 7 Ford Explorers (our biggest seller nationwide for 2003) on our lots, we're only going to carry at maximum, 3.

NOBODY is buying these things any more except the tiny 4 cylinder import models (Rav4, CR-V).

we had a big sales meeting about it this morning.

The last 9 out of 11 appraisals I've performed are on SUV's. The other two were V8 vehicles (Mustang GT convertible and big ass old Impala).

People are starting to finally get it into their heads that gas prices are not going to get any lower than they are now.

Carmax is the USA's 3rd largest wholesaler of vehicles. Once these things get dumped on the market, the resale value is going to plummet for those models.

Hopefully it was all a tactic by the Bush administration. Oil is Bush's family business so he called up his old Yale buddies and said "We need to get rid of these SUVs, hike up the gas prices til nobody buys em anymore." Looks like his plan is going perfectly

You do realize that you're going to get around 10mpg? And that it will cost upwards of $75 to fill it up with gas?

That's almost $250 a month for a car that is driven daily.
