Hassle free networking with windows. On first boot, i click the Local Network icon on my desktop and, boom, there's my Window workgroup and Samba shares. Big bonus for the seamless Samba integration.

It picked the right modules for my onboard sound first time, which no distro has ever done for me. Crazy onboard Ensoniq audio, when i could get it to work at all, it was always a PITA.

8.2 got me interested, 9.0 is just what i'd wished 8.2 was. :bigok:

 I would never pay for a Linux, but for average home user who would otherwise pay 4 times as much for Windows, this is a step in the right direction. Good job SuSE!

I waited and waited to install RH9. With all the bad news I need to use Suse. I've heard alot of good things about it :)

i haven't yet, but i wouldn't mind paying for a distro, perhaps SUSE 9 here once i get comfortable with it, especially since the talk of Novell teaming up with SUSE and the work they're doing battling SCO.

If you want the quick and dirty base install, you only need the first two ISOs.

Okay maybe I'm just retarded here, but shouldn't you be able to download SuSe 9 Pro? I can't find anything to download :ugh:

Can someone please set me straight? :x:

You can't download the "pro" version. Also, SuSE doesn't offer full CD downloads on their website, you just download a minimal installer and it downloads the rest of the packages. As far as I can see, 9.0 isn't offered online yet, perhaps kellyclan can correct me here :dunno:

I was going to try 9.0 too. :sad2: Just an FTP install would work.

There is a full five disc set out there for download. *cough* :big grin:

But yeah, they're only offering a LiveCD eval version of 9 for DL on their site. (Boots and runs off the CD). If you want a proper install, you have to buy or otherwise obtain the Pro install discs. Hopefully, they will eventually offer an installable DL, but nothing yet. :dunno:

Feel free to PM if i can help any further. :wiggle:
