word, i posted a couple funny quotes from the DC gov in DIAC.
"Nearly 80% of DC's 181 murders in 2007 were committed with guns. "
Must have all been rifles, right, since handguns are banned. LOL!
"Whatever right the Second Amendment guarantees, it does not require the district to stand by while its citizens die," the city wrote in its petition to the Supreme Court last year.
The Police are under no obligation to protect. soo...
Seems like a really effective law
They (the anti's) just don't get that laws only apply to LAW-ABIDING citizens. Criminals aren't law-abiding citizens, therefor the laws don't apply to them Is this not a logical conclusion to make?
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but the illogical arguments that they make just fire me up and I can't help but let it out
lol, ya...thats the one that really got me. That coupled with the "They warn that gun violence could increase without the law, leading to more deaths."
Practically speaking, i dont think it is possible for it to get worse.
Not only that, you'd be lead to believe it would decrease since the criminals would realize that they could run into someone with a gun
The only people who are wanting the ruling to be reversed are Anti's and criminals. One in the same if you ask me
I know what's going on but I'm not up to date. Are they making arguments today or making a ruling?
ruling will come out in june/july
ya, arguments this afternoon if i recall.
An old lady Democrat is on supporting the removal of the DC handgun ban because she doesn't feel safe. Good for her.
I have a long boring class coming up... I'm going to just watch this.
No cameras allowed in the SC crap... can't watch the arguments.
Callers to public radio/tv usually scare me. Apparently cspan is no different.
Wow....words cannot describe the spanking I feel like dc's attorney is taking from roberts, kennedy, and scalia.
Chief Justice Roberts asks why the Framers would refer to "the right of the people" if the Second Amendment was not intended to protect an individual right.
Justice Kennedy says the first clause of the Second Amendment can be read as reaffirming the militia clauses, and can be read to support an individual right to bear arms.
Justice Scalia says he sees no contradiction between reading the second clause as guaranteeing an individual right and the first clause as affirming the importance of the militia. "The two clauses go together beautifully," Scalia says.
wow. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is hot.
goddamnit, i want to hear whats going on, lol...is this being broadcast on radio anywhere?
OMFG this Walter Dellinger guy is a FUCKING MORON!
Just listening to him talk is making the world dumber.
I'd do scalia, he makes my nipples hard every time he talks.
ah damn, blocked at work...though i can watch that live blog. The dude from DC is getting his shit pushed in.
ah shit, i found it on the radio!
