I want to sell my Supra for a Viper. Any thoughts or opinions on this?
Fail, keep it. It's just a Dodge
A supra is just a toyota.
If its a MKIV TT 6M keep the supra. If its not go for the Viper.
The MKIV is a better handling car.
the other thread stayed very calm and somehow went to over 10 pages of civil debate, but it's been removed/deleted/etc.
I'm not certain if you've posted pictures of your RSP, but would you? Any stats?
If it's going to be for sale, I'd like to discuss a few things with you.
i was wondering what happened to that other thread. Seems like every Supra owner moves on to a Z06 or a Viper but goes back to the supra eventually
Not if they're into actual racing. The supra's a great dyno queen, and it seems that what most of them turn into.
Some of us went from a C5 (twin turbo'd as well) to the Supra. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.
If I do anything to this Supra, it'll be a 63-67mm to spool early... and it'll never see a track or a dyno. Nothing I've owned has seen the 1320-ft straight or the heavy rollers... Just not my thing.
No turbo for me. But my car is too pristine to even risk such a stupid thing.
hmm...i have been contemplating the move also. I am deciding whether I should sell the supra for a viper/z06/996 turbo or add to the collection. Tough call to be honest. My main issue with my mkiv is that since it has a healthy dose of mods ie single turbo, cams, fuel etc I am very paranoid driving it around the street in fear of being pull over. This results in the car being driven only every few months which seems like a waste.
baltic blue is so ftw
depends which viper you want, i would go with the 96 GTS those are sexy and classic
Yeah the SRT-10s are FTL. Older GTS Model FTW. On the plus side i just ordered a HKS Carbon Ti for my supra
What size Carbon Ti? I buddy of mine runs the 75mm and I have the 95mm. Both are happy with ours
i got the 95mm, should be here on Friday
Which means its fast and dependable. Ever see a Viper with over 150K on it running like the day it first drove off the lot?
I don't have a habit of inspecting odometers. I'll tell you what I have noticed tough. I've noticed many more vipers at track days than supras. In fact, I've never seen a supra at a track day. To be fair though, I have seen more supras on the dyno, that counts for something.
A Viper is a far more Focused Racing Machine than a Supra, like a weekend track toy. I daily drive my supra, rain or shine, heck ive even driven mine when there was light snow falling and i was slipping around like crazy. You couldnt live with a viper everyday, they get hot inside after running it for a while, stiff suspension and little cargo space. Especially the early ones which are known to be much wilder and raw than than the newer ones. Not to mention burning your legs on the side exhuast when you get out the door
