    are their any supplements i should take while im trying to lose some fat?? like whey protein and etc..

    a) its "whey"
    b) do some research, then post questions

    supplements aren't magic pills to shread body fat. clean you diet, lift, do lots of cardio. burn more calories than you consume. stop drinking soda, drink water. once you start seeing results, then start using burners. supplement your diet with whey, glutamine, fish oil if you want, and others.

    :uh: sorry i had a feeling i misspelled it. i know its not a magical weight loss. im cleaning up my diet and i already go to the gym i was just wondering if whey protein would help me lose fat because my brother takes whey and creatine to bulk up

    Whey is just used to supplement your protein intake, it doesn't have a ton to do with fat loss.

    Well I use shakes in place of meals sometimes, and always post-workout. If you're getting enough protein from food sources you don't necessarily NEED it, its just a lot easier and faster to down a shake with 40g of protein than it is to eat the same amoutn of meat.

    yea that makes sense but most protein shakes contain lots of sugar which i am concerened about because i am a diabetic

    My protein shakes have less than 1 gram of carbs and no sugars. I'm not sure what effect splenda has on a diabetic though, I'd assume none.

    I spent like 6 hours researching this yesterday. The only ones that I found had real, hard scientific data to back up their claims were Green Tea Extract (Lean Green is a good one), and Sesathin (a sesame seed derivative). Stuff like Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) and L-carnitine had no scientific evidence, and in the case of CLA, the scientific evidence showed that it actually increased insulin resistance.

    As a diabetic, you have a much different metabolism vs most people, and you should be really careful about what you take.

    I'd start with sesathin and green tea extract. most of your improvement is going to be from working out and eating right anyway.

    there are published studies using humans in respected medical journals for both. go to pubmed.com and type in the names, and you can at least read the abstracts. i get the acticles free through my university, so i actually read most of them
