A&P sunset picture advice

    Hey, took these a couple nights ago. I was wondering which of the following deviations you guys like the most

    #1 - Auto Tone in LR

    #2 - Aged Photo in LR

    #3 - Antique Grayscale in LR

    #4 - B&W Low Contrast
    [​IMG]

    I personally am a fan of 1 and 4, you?

    to be honest that doesn't look like a sunset, it just looks like you dropped a gradient behind a black line. :dunno:

    Well, the 1st of the 2 is a better attempt, because at least there is some visual interest in it, but it's still pretty blah. And in every one of these, you have the sun dead centered. You need something interesting in the photo. Get in closer on a silhouette of a tree, or person, anything, or it's just a damn run of the mill "sunset." Or you could go to the other extreme and get a shot with a vast empty landscape that conveys a huge sense of space or scale. That is going to be a very location specific shot, so the first suggestion is going to be easier.

    The second one was a nice attempt at being creative, and would have worked well if the sun had hired you for some engagement photos, but lets not try that again.

    But just keep taking pics and posting for C&C and you'll be fine.

    alright, ill keep the advice in mind. these were my first shots of a sunset with this cam and ill definately use your advice in the future :bigthumb:
