They're minitures that I placed on a set I built. I find that it's much easier this way.

And this set disproves the "you need pretty people to make pretty photos" mantra. Good set!

    I like 1 and 2 - a bit dark but I still like em.

3 - the lighting looks to artificial. The entire set, your use of light is great adn very natural looking, in this one though, it seems more strobist.

4-6 - I like these alot, and even more so that you did not take them paralell to the road so that it is going off into infiniaty straight back.

7- she seems in pain and he is helping with her lamaz breathing. nothign wrong with your shot though adn 8 she has the same weird face.

9 - smiling couples always make for a winner ame with 13.

14 - this is interesting to me. I hope they like it also.

16, 17 - I think this shot is a bit of a role reversal, the pose is not masculine for him unless he wated a a feminine looknig shot

18 should be the other way around.

    I like 19 also

20 is equally good but you are borering on the strobist type again with the flash to the camera right to fill in his shadows on his face and jeans. maybe just a reflector could have worked? sunrise generally has a yellow, orange light associated with it, not white

Thanks man. I didn't use a reflector because:

    A. The sun wasn't up far enough or in the right position.

    B. I didn't have my assistant with me.

    Noob Question Alert:

When you shoot into the sun like 1 and 2, how do you guys meter? Using manual mode? Or aperture mode weighting it on the subjects/exposure comp?

Manual. Adjust as needed. If you want more precision, go to spot metering mode and take a reading of the sky/clouds just to the left or right of the sun.

Actually he makes a lot of sense. I shot another e-session with a really, really homely looking bride. I was worried that the pics didn't really turn out as well as I would have liked but she freaking loved them! As my wife said, "she's probably never had a decent pic of her before" so my pics, even though they weren't my best work, looked great in her eyes.
