I'm pretty damn pale, but I stopped tanning last year when I found out that I have a genetic predisposition to skin cancer, its just not worth the risk for me. Is there any sunless tanners that work and don't make you look like an orange freak? i just want to be tan enough to be considered having a healthy complection and not a pasty nerd freak lol.

EDIT: sorry, forgot to mention no tanning beds either.

    This is what I do.

I don't tan in winter, (which in Chicago is half the year :wtc:) and the rest of the time I just 8min in a level one lay down bed twice a week. It's enough to give me some decent color but "hopefully" not so much that it will give skin issues or cancer.
I figure this is actually MORE healthy for me though. I do a lot of outside activities and if I don't have a base tan from the tanning bed I burn bad. Better to have a base tan from a bed and not burn than you have nothing and burn like a cheeseburger out in the sun.

I'm waiting for someone to come out with a really good quality tanning product that does not give you an orange look.

You're probably better off checking out bodybuilding.com or something. A site with a good amount of competitors would likely know a lot more about good tanning lotions and such. Everyone here either hits up the tanning bed or just does not tan at all.

yea....bronzers are your best bet. im in the same boat as you. my family has a bunch of crappy moles, so i'm too scared to tan anymore. so i'm stuck with bronzers the rest of my life. :(

i would just go to wal mart and get one from there.

Yeah, I've got a lot freckles and a few moles on my back and legs. I've always been worried about tanning but that's why I don't go often or for a long time. Never more than 8min in a level one bed and only twice a week at most.

Lemme know if you find a bronzer that works well for you. I'd prefer to give up the tanning altogether.

i bought some loreal bronzer or something, and it leaves a glitter on my skin, and i really dont like that, so i stopped using it. im going to buy another one maybe tonight or tomorrow and let you know. im just buying mine at wal mart though, im not spending a bunch on it.

Do you have the exact name of the Dove one?

So it does not leave you all glittery and does not leave an orange color?

They now have tanning beds that have no burning rays, thus reducing (99%) any ray that burns you. You're at more risk going outside than in those beds. The shit side is that it's fucking expensive.

something to consider, if you are worried over cancer from sun exposure, be concerned over vitamin D3 deficiency too. D3 is made when sunlight strikes your skin. It has been found to be a powerful cancer fighting hormone. A good sight to read about d3 and its many uses in the body: http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/
