    Anyone used the low end suns? They're looking quite cheap, and can run Linux, Solaris and Windows with full driver support on each. Its like $2K for X2100 + some RAM + 2 disks + DVD-ROM + rails + other minor stuff.

    Sounds tasty. Do they come with Sparc chips or Opterons?

    That's good, though it would be cool if they came with some of the massively-parallel Sparc chips.

    You can get those too. But they're not low end.

    I'll have the opportunity to play around with some of the low-end Opteron workstations in about a month. Sun is lending us some Ultra 20's to use at our installfest. I'll be very interested to see what they're like since I seriously considered buying one before I bought this machine.
