read that for tall people it is safer for your back? I have had 2 lower back injuries, so i cannot DL shit conventional, partly because i am scared, and partly because my back aches for days, not in a sore kind of way.

Why is it more acceptable if you're competing?

Truth... when I train for meets its all sumo... but now that I don't have a meet coming up anytime soon I'm going to mix in conventional. Its been ages since I've pulled conventional though so I'll prolly struggle with 405.
