Judging by the amount of replies I got the first time around, no one cares about this. But I thought I'd let yous know that the car is now under the knife and should be done Wednesday. I will post before and after dyno numbers.

Well, my 360 guess is conservative, I dont know how much bigger that cam is youve chosen over teh stocker.

My most extreme guess would probably be 375 or so.

He was probably making close to 360 at the crank stock. (probably around 340 or so) He should be well past that that with the mods.

Being that he has a 2002 LS1, he probably would have dynoed 310 or so to the wheels stock. With the lid and catback probably another 10-15. I've seen LS1s with intake, headers and exhaust dyno in the 330s on numerous equations.

With the addition of a cam I would expect another 30 or so hp ontop of that.. 360 seems reasonable.

im not a chevy person but he is changing the cam and not the heads or intake from what i see, i dont see a cam giving you that much more power over the stock cam without changin your other big 2 components

Well all 2001-02 LS1 motors came with the LS6 intake manifold strait off the Z06's engine and LS6 exhaust manifolds as well. To counteract these upgades GM put a smaller cam in these engines than was in the 98-00's. Beyond porting theres not much else you could ask for. The LS6 intake flows pretty damn well.

LS1 heads also flow remarkablly well for a stock casting and is basically where the cars make all of their power.

We'll see once he gets it all installed though.

Well, everything's in and here are the numbers...388 RWHP and 371 RWTQ. I am happy. So now the car has the mods listed in my sig, plus the cam, Hooker (instead of Jet-Hot...long story) longtube headers w/ORP, NGK TR55 plugs, Magnecor wires, Comp valvesprings, and aftermarket pushrods. It idles great thanks to the dyno-tune and it's not too loud. I can't wait to clean her up tomorrow and cruise around!

    Wow, thats really good!

I should have guessed higher. I was playing it conservative, but then again like I said before I didnt know much about your specific cam.

Go kill some 03 Cobras now. :)

  17. Get some heads or be like me and go twin turbo.

I may do heads some day. This cam works real nice with the stock heads though, and there's NO WAY I'll be able to afford any kind of forced induction anytime soon. Driving her @ lunch brought a smile to my face :big grin:
