Suggestions on gaining weight..

    Hi,

    I'm really trying to gain weight. I'm 5'10 1/2 and 120lbs. I have gone to so many doctors because they believed I had something wrong preventing me from gaining weight but it comes down my fast metabolism. I am trying so hard to gain weight by eating everything possible and I'm still not seeing an improvemnt. Its pretty depressing..

    So basically every morning I eat either a bowl of honey bunches of oats cerial or a breakfeast bar before school. I also drink a large glass of orange juice. Around lunch I eat peanut butter and jelly, chips, water, peanuts and a slice of pizza. For dinner it changes day to day, but I try to eat a lot. I have maybe 4 glasses of orange juice a day and 3 glasses of milk. I am also eating one of those small hogendaz ice creams a day which is a ton of calories. I'm not really sure how many calories I am taking in and how to improve it.

    Any suggestions would be greatly apperiated :).

    how about you actually count the number of calories you're getting per day, and increase it by 500? if you're still not gaining, increase another 500, etc...

    I'll give that a try then. I really hope I start gaining weight because it bothers me so much.

    Dude, your bareley eathing anything, thats it why you weight 120. 3 meals a day ain't goina cut it. Double the amount of food you eat each day and stay at that for a while. You will gain weight.

    yeah you aint eating shit, i wouldnt gain on that amount of food and my metabolism is like a snail stuck in tar

    just fucking eat dude. I have the same problem you do, and I've just had to start eating everything in sight. When I started eating massive ammounts of food before bed, I started seeing dramatically better results.

    Lift big, eat big, sleep big

    Focus your workouts around compound exercises (deadlifts, squats, bench, pull-ups, dips, etc.).

    Quit making excuses. I've been 5'11" 135 and believed I couldn't gain weight but its just not true. Track all your calories for a week (eating like you do now) and you will be shocked when you average less than 2000 a day.

    I'm the same height as you, but 15lbs heavier.
    I'm gaining weight just by eating more and working out (+ creatine).

    EAT EAT EAT.

    I know a guy who's 6'3" 118lbs. So dont feel too bad. Hahaha.

    How old are you?

    That is a fucking cutting diet for me. As others have said, add in 3 other equal sized meals every day or DOUBLE everything you eat at every meal.

    Yeah, every time you eat, eat until you can't breathe... then.. pack away a little more for properity sake. You will then gain weight.

    Hell, thats what I did for years and believe me, I wish I was only 50lbs heavier than you, I would feel great!

    :ugh: OR a breakfast bar? whats that, 100 calories? my breakfasts usually have 800 or so.

    eat a LOT more.

    i've dated girls who are 5'3" and weigh that much and they were very slim.

    and one of the skinniest guys i know is 6'3" and 150, i honestly dont know how you could weigh much less than 150 if you're 6'3", this guy has no fat or muscle...

    and whats even more weird is his attitude..
    he's white. and swears to God he's black.
    listens to only rap.
    he hangs out with all black people.
    wears XL swearshirts and pants. (that look ridiculous on his tiny body)
    wears huge gold/silver chains/necklaces.

    he really gets on my nerves.
    the last conversation I had with him was.

    me: Bryce, do you know why I hate you so much?
    him: because I'm black?

    Not kidding.

    you're not eating enough. nov 1 i was 124 lbs, 5' 10".

    space your meals over the entire day so you eat a bunch of them. i ate like it was my job...today i'm 138.8. just EAT EAT EAT, record your cals so you can get an idea how many you've consumed in a day.

    i thought i couldnt gain weight, but i did what everybody said...and ATE...and it works.

    That may feel like you're eating alot, but you're not. Not even at your weight is that alot.

    yeah, I saw him today but only had my phone and couldnt get a good picture from a distance.

    I'll bring the camera tomorrow, maybe even have him hold a "I <3 OT" sign.
