I'm looking for an open source webapp / pc application that will monitor a few dozen servers (nix and windows mix) and show like a green or red light for their status... maybe ping vitals, system loads.. something like.

My 'cluster'(fuck) of servers is getting to the point where it's a pain in the ass to keep an eye on everything.. :x:

    Check out:
    http://conky.sourceforge.net/

I have it running on each of my Linux servers. My workstation is a Windows PC and I overlay all the information onto my Windows desktop with the use of X-Win32. Your first setup might be a pain in the ass to get everything looking the way you want it to, but once you've got it done on server #1 just copypasta the config files over to the rest.

For remote Windows server monitoring I use the built in Performance monitor and just add remote hosts.

Nagios could be run from a low-end VPS if you wanted. :)
