Any products or models worth mentioning for a digital printer?
take em to walmart or another printing place.... 4x6s are $0.24 and 8.5x11 are about $2... you can make alot of prints for the price of a nice printer plus all the paper, ink etc you have to keep buying... now I know alot of people will probably say "oh thats a terrible idea" but most people will never use a printer enough to start recouping their investment..
It's all about convienence. How much did you want to spend?
What do you guys own?
canon i470D ... it makes nice prints, but even after they dry, if just a tiny droplet of water gets on them, they smear all up (ie even just handling them they can get messed up) plus its just stupid how much ink even a single print will suck up
I'm just going to have my shots printed instead
i960 or epson r300
I completely agree with Blindsight. I realized that the initial cost of buying a printer is just a portion of the price of printing your own photos. I was using a Canon printer, but when I went to get replacement ink cartridges, and found out that they cost more than the printer had originally cost me (cartridges were gonna cost about $120 at Fry's), I bought a new printer for about $100.. I now have Walmart or Sams Club print my pictures, and I use my printer for stuff like printing up driving directions, or stuff like that. Photos go through ink like you wouldn't believe, and the ink is VERY succeptible to smearing, moisture, etc.. .nowhere near as durable as professionally printed photos
Oh, btw, I also have the Canon S50, just got it a month ago or so.. $350, great camera
my printer (for now, until it runs out of ink and it costs less to buy a new printer than it costs to buy ink refills) is a Lexmark Z45.. it's nothing spectacular, but as I mentioned, it's not worth having a printer to print your own photos.
