I'm not lookin for a project car or anything, but I want something that won't break down after numerous burnouts and etc.

I have a 1991 Mazda Protege whos axles are in pretty bad shape. I don't think I wnat to fix them..so I want to get a muscle car if/when the Mazda dies. What do you think I should get. I live in the Motor City, so it won't be hard to find a car, but I want something sub $3,000. The cheaper the better. Any ideas?

3rd Gen F-body. You can easily find one for under 3 grand, no problem and the aftermarket is enormous.

yeah same for the older 5 litre mustangs. They are kinda slow stock, but respond extremly well to mods.

If you want something that'll put up with some abuse - it's gotta be a RWD V8, and only the Fbod's and Mustangs fit that bill. Thunderbirds might surprise you too though, especially the SC - but it's not near as reliable as the 5.0L Mustangs.
