ok i got the crank back from the machine shop. all they did was polish the journals. they said thats all it needed. I need to order bearings. whats the benefit of "race" bearings. they are not too much more money but i want to know the benefit. this is NOT turbo.

'Race' bearings generally just have deeper oil grooves as well as multiple windows rather than just one. Some may also have more babbit though you'll have to look on your application.

well i ordered the normal bearings, in .025mm oversize. i saved $10 (over the race ones). since this is clearly NO race motor, will never see even 190 hp, seemed like the way to go.

are there any aftermarket pistons for this thing?

from past builds i want to use Deves rings again. they really work well.
