I'm tossing a subwoofer in my mr2 spyder. I could go with an 8" JL audio 8w3v3 or an 8" or 10" pioneer slim sub.

what would you suggest? are those pioneer slim subs any good?

Hands down go with the 8w3... WAY better sound, WAY better power handling, WAY better sub!

the 8w3 is a proven woofer. No reason not to select it.

I'm all about JL. But you have a serious space issue. I haven't seen the inside of a MR2 spider, but a buddy of mind had a 87 and a 91 MR2 and I know those bitches have NO room. He had a set of Aura's in the both and the slammed. Surprising for a set of truck boxes.

Best thing to do is to try and hear the subs you're looking at.

you can also go with the redesigned 8w1... haven't heard em yet but if they perform anything like the 10w1 then that would be an awesome speaker... not to mention that the w1 line is not very demanding for air space...
