I installed style xp a while ago and changed the boot screen. Whenever I start my comp I would get the black screen asking whether I wanted to boot from Windows XP or Windows XP(bootscreen.) It got anoying so I went into style xp and changed the bootscreen back to default, now I still am asked whether I want to start in Windows XP or Windows XP(bootscreen.) How do I get rid of it so that windows just starts without prompting me?

    thanks

start > right click my computer > properties > Advanced

    "Startup & Recovery" > Settings

select the default you want, and change the time to display to 0 sec.

ok but won't that just mask the problem? I would like to just have it restored to normal.

you are much better off setting the time to zero if you don't know what everything in boot.ini means.

ok thanks that sounds better than messing with boot.ini. I was just hoping there was a way I could get rid of the windows xp(bootscreen) thing all together without the chance of me messing it up so my system won't boot.

thats why you change the time to 0. It won't mess anything up. If you ever need to get to safe mode or something, you can just keep hitting F8 while booting, it'll take you to a menu :)
