hey guys i have a new problem on my comp.

Recently (like for the last 3-4 days) i have had to wait a while (10-15 secs) to open up internet explorer, My computer, files on desktop, control panel, search.......etc

other things like win media player and games run as normal without any problems.

Here is the sequence of events that happens. I click IE to open it, i get the hourglass near the pointer, then it goes away, for like 10-15 secs nothing happens, then all of a sudden the window opens!!! anyone know what this could be???

BTW-runnin XP on a P4 2.0 with 512 megs ram and 80Gb hard drive........I appreciate any help you guys can give, cus this is killing me!!!!

there have been a couple of recent windows updates that seem to be slowing some computers down - one of my machines has been affected - MS is working on a fix or you can uninstall the update.

I think it was "Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Q811493" but I'm not 100% sure and I have heard similar stories with other updates.
