I just did a SnoX shoot over the weekend ( 52 gigs worth lol ). While I was there, the Monster Invasion Tour was doing tricks. I have a lot of motion shots with no camera movement showing the trick in progress.

I want to make a image like this.

It's called a sequence shot. I do them all the time.

no no no. You need to have 12 identical cameras, all triggered with laser switches and wired to 6 banks of lights, each bank set to fire at 1/10,000. sec in order to make this kind of photo.

Anything else is simply voodoo magic.

    well here it is smartasses.

this is my first attempt ever, so be gentle. ( yes I did add some vignetting, but I think I'm going to remove it. I like what it does to the sky, but not the landing jump )

    ( doing a quick edit )

The masking looks sloppy. Vignette kills it.

Have a better angle where you can see the entire jump and where it shows height and distance?

and it looks like the rider overshot the jump. Ouch.

I'd say not a bad first try. I've never tried it myself, but I think you have to many positions shown.

masking isn't the best, but also not the worst either. when zoomed in, it doesn't look that bad. I just found it hard to mask cause the rider overlapped his previous position a lot.

I couldn't go back anymore ( butting up against a tree up on the mountain ) and couldn't go down anymore since a snowbank was there. also, it was shot at 16mm

I don't think he overshot it, whereas the landing was pretty long yet.

I havn't even started editing this session yet. Still editing a wedding from 2 weeks ago, and a musical from a local high school this past Friday night. I have 3 weeks for my turn around on this project. Once those two are complete, I'll tackle these.

I've been dying to try a "sequence" shot, so I took a break from the others to give it a try. I by no means spent a lot of time on it. Critique away....doesn't bother me, since its my first once ever.
