    How does it work?
Would a 28-50mm lens give same magnification at max telephoto as a 50-200mm lens at its max wideangle?

    OK.
So having a 18-50mm and 50-200mm lens let me go from 18-200mm, without having to worry about changes in magnification?

    PS
    I know I'm over-simplifying this shit.

well on a dslr it woudl actually be like this

    canon has a 1.6x crop: 18-50 becomes ~29-128
    50-200 becomes ~128-320

so you woudl effectively be covering 29-320 with thoes 2 lenses

    Yeah, that's what I meant about over-simplifying.
What I wanted to know was that would having an ~18-50 and ~50-200+ would let me cover ~18-200+ range.
    :)
    Thanks.
