My computer recently started trying to save .jpg files as the .jpe extension. I know it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I like uniformity. Is there an option in Windows somewhere to fix this? If not, how do I fix it?

Running the worst OS ever... Windows ME.

I know that. The thing is, up until a few weeks ago, it was saving all jpeg files with whatever extension they originally came with(when saving pics from the internet). Now it's wanting to save all jpegs with the jpe extension.

Can't you just throw a .jpg on the end while saving the file?

I checked my files and the things I got when it started were:

    Netscape 4.8 - uninstalled
    Netscape 7.02
Windows Media Player plugin for 4.8(I think)
Windows Media Player 7.1 - updated to 9.1
    Windows Media Player 9.1

I can and do. It's just annoying when I've never had to do it before(and shouldn't have to now).

are you sure that the pics you're downloading weren't named .jpe on the site?

They aren't named .jpe on the site as far as I can tell.

edit: As far as I can tell it's only doing this in IE. The same image in netscape 7.02 saves with a .jpg extension.
