I have a simple, but probably dumb cable internet question. When Time Warner "installed" my cable modem, they drilled a hole under a room in my house and fed a cable to the modem. I also have a coax cable coming up from the floor in my living room for my TV; now are these the same kind of cable? if I wanted to relocate my computer to my living room, could I just use a splitter for that cable and one to the TV and one to the computer or does the cable modem use a different kind of cable?

I hate having to call them and have em come out and redrill a new hole (if the cables aren't the same), because they never come a time that suits me.

    thanks.

they *may* have installed a filter. If that is the case, you can't use a different outlet.
