Now all the liberals are going to try and use this to further their anti-2A bullshit.

Meh, sounds like he got hit with a couple pellets, but I'm eager to read all the soon to be coming liberal conspiracy theories.

Oh I know they wont, but I think they should, atleast for the comic value. :o Not for life, but a couple years would be fine.

It's not an accident, it's negligence. You said it yourself, shit like this is totally avoidable.

My dad and I just had an argument about this. He claims there can be accidental shootings.. I disagree. I told him you should be aware of whats beyond your target, and if you're not, then you dont shoot.. He says "ahh what if you miss a deer and it goes a few thousand yards and hits somebody"..

and I said "you shouldnt shoot in that situation, if you're not aware of a good backstop".. then I explained to him that every deer I ever shot had ground behind the line of fire.

There is no accidents, just negligence.

eh...on a private ranch, you should assume that no one is trespassing..so if you're firing into the brush, you should be able to have a reasonable expectation that no one is back there..

its quail hunting, you jump a covey or fast doubles and you chase one too wide or something it can happen....cheney is getting a bit old too his reflexes aren't what they should.... besides i read somewhere else that the guy that got shot said that he didn't let cheney and the other guy know that he was behind them....:dunno:

On the news they said the guy he shot, went out of line ( when he wasnt suppposed to ) to retrieve a quail. Cheney didnt know he was gone.

That sounds like an accident to me.

RULE 1: All guns are always loaded.

RULE 2: Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

RULE 3: Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.

RULE 4: Be sure of your target

what happened was that Whittington (the guy who was shot) came up to the group without announcing his presence and got peppered when Cheney turned to fire on a bird.
