If you've never spent quality time in DOS or have dissected a PC, yes, I could see it being tough. Although I'd have to say its probably one of the easier certs you could get...

Get as much hands on as you can - I think you'll learn the material easier if you apply it.

It really isn't all that hard if you know the workings of the PC. The graphic questions can be a little unviewable at times, but you'll get over it.

I'm with you on this... people who say the A+ is hard as fuck should give up their computer jobs to those of us who know what we're doing, and go flip burgers at McD's

the economy would be much better that way, atleast :hs:

yes, yes i can. if u have somewhere for me to upload the 17.1mb file to. if u want it VIA snailmail i can do that too if you pay for the postage and cd.

they seem to be really helpful so far. lots of explanations of answers, not just the answer and carry on.

BTW a+ peoples... was your test adaptive, or not? i hear there are 2 versions

Eh, they asked me for IRQs and addresses. I found those uber easy and didn't have much to memorize. Although I came from the days when IRQs were on jumpers, NICs were hard wired to IRQ 5, and you had to specify the COM port address to make sure your terminal program wasn't talking to your mouse. I also did help desk for 3 years for PCs that had: mouse, modem, 2-3 printers, and an electronic scale. With all the hardware, conflicts were bound to happen when new hardware was introduced.

A+ cert really dont mean shit these days too, MCSE and/or CCNA is something you should atleat aim for after you get you A+. With that said A+ should be a breeze to pass if you've screwed around with windows boxes and know the hardware and basic software stuff.
