Anyone have any experience with a deadl pixel? It's stuck at white so it's pretty obvious on some pictures, and to make it worse it's right in the center of the screen...

yeah it's on the sensor. i know that it's not uncommon for one to come up, and it's not uncommon for one to die or get stuck during the life of the camera... but has anyone had theirs shipped back to nikon for this?

That looks bigger than one pixel.

But I still bet in the grand scheme of things you couldn't notice it.

I had a hot pixel on my d200. I sent it in because I didn't want to photoshop it out of every single picture I took. Nikon's service center takes about a week, but checks out the whole camera for any problems. I figure you spend $1,000+ on something...it should work right. But hey, thats me.

They have programs that auto batch process your photos.
I believe you select/set the effected pixel location and it just leeches in the colors of the adjacent pixels to blend it in.

Ive never use them but would make it a simpler process for you.

do they pay for shipping and all of that too?

I purchased it at Costco so I could probably return it there. How much is the d80 nowadays?
